About The Johnstowner
The Johnstowner is an independent local guide to Johnstown and Monroe Township, Ohio, run by Jared Rudolph, a Johnstown resident. It's one place for local businesses, upcoming events and the openings, closings and civic news that are easy to miss in a fast-growing town.
Johnstown is changing quickly. A lot of new neighbors are moving in, and big projects are going up nearby. Since the Johnstown Independent stopped publishing, there hasn't been a single easy place to keep up. We'd like to be that place, with a friendly Friday email to go with it.
How listings work
- Listings come from public sources: the Johnstown Area Chamber of Commerce member directory, business websites, state license lookups, and public listing sites. Every listing links to its source.
- Verified (142 of 222) means we found recent evidence the business is operating, like a current Chamber membership, an active license, a working business website, or a 2026 event or listing. Unverified means we found it in a public listing but couldn't confirm it yet.
- We don't make up details. If we don't know a phone number or address, we leave it blank.
- Basic listings are free and always will be. Featured placement is clearly labeled.
Our news approach
We write short, neutral summaries and link to the original reporting. On contested issues like the data-center vote, we stick to what the measure does and who says what, and leave the deciding to you.
Not affiliated
The Johnstowner isn't affiliated with the City of Johnstown, the Johnstown Area Chamber of Commerce, or any school district.
